Christmas Wildlife: Angle 1:

Christine Wynne, a registered wildlife carer from Bundaberg, has urged drivers to call the RSPCA hotline if they hit local wildlife these holidays.

Her announcement follows a the high number of animal deaths that occur each year due to increased road activity at Christmas.

Ms Wynnes reminded motorists could save lives.

Christine Wynne: “Often if it’s a female kangaroo there could be a joey in the pouch. So if people can actually stop, if it’s safe to stop, check the kangaroo and make sure there’s no joey in the pouch. If the kangaroo’s still alive obviously call the council or myself to look at the animal having to be euthanased if it’s badly injured.”
