Mental Health Clinical: Angle 1:
Communities in south-west Queensland will soon benefit from greater mental health options following the State Government’s recruitment of a senior mental health clinician.
The senior clinician will provide mental health support, collaboration and training services as part of the State Government’s new $2.9 million support package.
South West Hospital and Health Service’s Mental Health Program Manager, Christine McDougall, says the clinician will be a great addition to the local mental health team.
Christine McDougall: “We’ve currently got a service integration coordinator, we’ve got a community educator in drug and alcohol, but we haven’t had a clinician who’s able to work with the community, so hopefully we’ll create more awareness, more constructiveness and more ability for the wider community to be aware of what’s available.”
