Mental Health Clinical: Angle 2:

South-west Queensland will soon boast a new senior mental health clinician as part of the State Government’s new $2.9 million mental health support program.

The clinician will provide mental health support, collaboration and training services.

South West Hospital and Health Service’s Mental Health Program Manager, Christine McDougall, says the additional staff member will allow the community to be more engaged.

Christine McDougall: “It will enable us to be more proactive in working with whole of community. Because we’ve been limited in staff numbers and we have, as I’m sure as many other remote areas and rural areas, identified that we needed somebody to go out and work in the community and work more closely with the community members.”
