The University of the Sunshine Coast says most staff at its new Fraser Coast campus have retained their jobs.
USC says it’s on track to take ownership of the Hervey Bay campus from the University of Southern Queensland in time for semester one next year.
USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill says USQ has signed ‘transfer of lease’ forms, and he’s just waiting on final government approval.
He says the vast majority of staff at the Fraser Coast campus who wanted to transfer across to USC have jobs.
Greg Hill: “We went through a process, we called for expressions of interest for people who wanted to come across to us, otherwise they could go to another USQ campus or they could take a redundancy package from USQ. We took virtually all the people who were interested in coming across to us.”
