We set off at 8 o’clock to beat the morning traffic. Storm clouds gathered overhead as we drove north, but we held out on the account that the forecast promised sunshine at noon. We arrived to a cold, overcast beach and consoled our sadness with tea. Then, sunshine. We trooped down once more to the beach, our spirits high, and set up camp. We kicked sand in the air, pawed around the little rock pools and danced along the beach. Our morning trek to the beach was then followed with a large helping of chips.
